First Post but Not My First Post
Welcome to my first post on Wall Writes.
Like many others, I started a blog in the past but did not maintain it. My blog became defunct around 2013 when Google Reader was discontinued. Until then RSS feeds were a key part of my online reading. After Google Reader’s demise I turned to Twitter to stay up-to-date. But now, Google Reader is long gone and Twitter is a shadow of its former self.
Bluesky and Mastodon have replaced Twitter in many respects but I have rediscoverd blogs too. The turning point for blogs was my homelab - expect to see more posts about my homelab setup. I installed a feed reader and started subscribing again. My online reading habits have begun shifting away from doom-scrolling through infinite streams of tweets/skeets/posts/whatever. That certainly feels like a positive change, and I’d like to contribute back - hence, this is my first post here, but not my first post.
Aside from homelab posts, I’ll be posting here about technology in general (including AI - clearly we need more AI content 😉) as well as gardening and books.
Feedback is always welcome, see the contact page for how to get in touch.
